IT IS HOT

Three words: "It is HOT!!" Yes, you guessed it, it's hot! The area of the world that I live in seems like it is situated directly below the sun (which is NOT a good thing). You feel the difference when you walk into an air-conditioned room, and there aren't many of those here. Retreating to the pool is a past time as well as sitting in front of the fan.  The fan parked a foot from my bed blows straight into my flushed face every night. I don't even consider leaving the house after noon for fear that I might melt in the middle of the grocery store parking lot. Getting inside the car is like stepping into a giant sauna. Because the windows of our mini-van aren't tinted, it gives our car an oven-like sensation. The AC doesn't flow to the back of the car, so the two people in the front seats get to greet the cool air with joy while the jealous "back-seaters" glare at them in envy. 

Now the weather here is interesting. I separate the year into "rainy season" and "not-rainy season". It's pretty dry and warm all year round. In "winter" it stays cold inside the house. Now, when I say "winter" in quotations I mean that it is not like the average winters in other parts of the world. The houses here are made of cement so the houses stay very cold during the winter and fairly cool during the summer. But, the moment you step out of the house (at any time of the year), a giant "heat-wave" hits you head-on. I guess things could be worse, but I don't want them to be.

Meet Leo

Meet Leo. A.K.A my 7 month old chocolate lab.

Height/Weight: no idea

Interests: chewing on bones, chasing after tennis balls, napping, chewing on everything, and cruising the counter for food

Favorite foods: Anything and everything! But, particularly bones, peanut butter, and bacon.

In Spanish "Lio" means "mess" which describes Leo very well. Leo is a huge mess. He is very creative in how and when he likes to destroy things. I'm not going to list everything that he has annihilated because then we might be here all day, but I will tell you about some specifically funny/horrendous moments of Leo's adventures. 

Leo does not like water for some weird reason. Labradors are supposed to love the water, but apparently I got a broken lab. Whenever it's time to give him a bath we have to literally drag him into the water. Then, we have to make sure that he's tied to the front gate while we hose him down. After the bath, we untie him and he runs all over the house rolling around trying to get himself dirty again. One time, he sat on a plant! I have no idea why he did that, but I thought that it was hilarious. 

Leo is adorable which is both a good thing and a bad thing. For one, whenever I punish him for doing something wrong, he looks back at me with his huge eyes and I immediately feel bad for punishing him. I can not leave Leo alone in the house. He will chew anything (yes, anything!). Just a few weeks ago he chewed the plug off the radio. My parents weren't very happy about that, but we were able to buy a new cord. "Counter-cruising" is one of his favorite past-times. He waits till we're turned around and jumps up on the kitchen counter and grabs something to eat. He's gotten bread, pancakes, cookies, watermelon, papaya, cheeses and the list goes on. Now don't get me wrong, Leo is such a nice dog once you get to know him. If you have treats in your hand, he will honestly do anything you tell him to do. Just give him a bone and then he'll love you forever!

Why am I starting a blog?

      So, why am I starting a blog? I honestly have no idea. I guess it's because I don't want to sit around all summer doing nothing. So, that's why I started a blog…I guess. What's going to be on my blog, you ask? Some people think that blogs have to be specifically about one thing like: recipes, fashion, business, etc. That's okay if you want your blog to be about one topic, but just I couldn't decide what I wanted my blog to be about. So, I'm here to tell you that this blog is going to be totally random. I might write about my opinion of something one day, fashion another, and maybe something funny that I saw today. So, don't hate on my blog. Because I couldn't think of something specific to write about. Anyways, I love reading fashion blogs and funny blogs with people who have awesome opinions about something and don't care about what others think. This blog is just a little bit of everything mixed together and topped off with a giant cherry! So, enjoy!!!
